III International Festival of Yury Bashmet
"The main idea of the Festival of Yury Bashmet is the possibility of making music together by promising young artists and recognized masters. Work on the same stage with eminent musicians promotes young talent" – in this way the event was introduced to the Bank by the winner of international competitions, graduate of the School of Music in Cologne, a graduate student of the Royal Academy of Music in London, a special scholarship fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus and the artistic director of the festival - Rostislav Krimer.
Alignment of the bank and the idea of the festival in support of young talents in music joined the directorate of the festival and the bank, and board members unanimously agreed to sponsor at the III International Festival of Yury Bashmet October 5-12, 2008.
Carrying out such a grand musical festival became possible due to support of the Ministries of Culture of Russia and Belarus, the Minsk City Executive Committee, Mayor of Bonn (Germany), Embassy of Germany in Belarus and Russia, as well as the diplomatic missions of Belarus and Russia in Germany.
Thanks to Festival our Belarusian young geniuses, the winners of JSC "BelSwissBank" prize "charming Muse," which is presented annually to the winner of the competition "Young talents in music" on the evening of traditional Christmas classic music, Artem Shishkov and Vlada Bereznaya pleased the lovers of classical music with the excellent performance of the legendary Stradivarius violins. Minsk audience heard their sound in the great hall the Belarusian State Philharmonic.
We congratulate the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" Yuri Bashmet with the award of the Skarina Order for his significant personal contribution to the development of Belarusian-Russian cultural relations, the promotion of classical music. The corresponding decree President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed on October 6.
We also thank the directorate of the Festival for providing a unique opportunity to see and touch in the walls of the bank the mysterious violin part - on the lower deck, where Stradivari left the mark of compasses and hear the sound of violins, understand and feel the uniqueness of each masterpiece presented to the bank's employees and journalists. Guest of the bank - the head of the European division of the Stradivari Society Professor Edward Wolfson presented the five violins of the great Italian masters in the press center of JSC "BelSwissBank" on October 7, 2008: two by Venetian - Santo Serafina and Domenico Montagnana, one by Jean-Baptiste Guadanini one by Filiusa Joseph Andreas and proper "Tsirkl." All the tools - unique, each has its own unique voice.
"The goal of our society - to find the talents and unite them with outstanding tools. I hope that in Belarus there will be opportunities for real masters to play on the magnificent musical instrument", - said Edward Wolfson.
In case of divergence of information in Russian and English versions of the site, the Russian version of the site shall prevail.
